~ care for the land ~

~~~^^^~~~
a Hawaiian value
my background • jeanne lau landscape architecture was started in 2002 to focus on the design of landscapes for both residential and commercial clients.
As a landscape architect, Jeanne has over 20 years of experience in the planning and design of residential and commercial landscapes in California and Hawaii.  She has worked with established Bay Area firms Garden Architecture and VITA Planning & Landscape Architecture on projects of varying scale from residences to planned communities.
Jeanne has a Masters in Landscape Architecture from California Polytechnic University Pomona.  She is a LEED-AP, trained as a Bay Friendly Landscape Designer and Rater, and a Registered Landscape Architect #3578.
my inspiration • native Hawaiian, raised in Hawaii and educated and at home in California, I am inspired by the beauty of the land around me with its unique habitats, microclimates and plants.  I try to infuse my designs with this appreciation and sensitivity to the land to promote sustainable design principles in every project.  I enjoy helping people to create their dream gardens and restorative spaces by listening and translating their thoughts into  unique design solutions for healing sanctuaries.
my process • I meet with clients to review their site and design concerns. It is a collaborative process and enables me to develop their design program and landscape master plan to fit their needs and create attractive enjoyable outdoor spaces.
During design development I weave together design elements -  architecture, fountains, pools, paths and patios with the textures, colors and fragrance of plants, to create memorable sustainable gardens.
I work in association with many local landscape contractors  to construct my designs.
